Why Choose Dental Easy Care For Dentures in Tijuana?

We know that in the past dentures did not feel exactly the same as natural teeth, that is why at Dental Easy Care every piece is custom made, in order to get every patient a natural look and feeling that is more comfortable than ever.

Understanding Dentures

First of all, we should start explaining what a denture is. A denture replaces missing teeth and can be removed and replaced in the mouth. Regularly it takes some time for people to get used to the denture because it doesn’t feel exactly like a natural denture, however nowadays with the advances in cosmetic dentistry the dentures look very natural and are better tolerated than before. Now commonly the dentures consist of an implant, a type of overdenture that is supported by and attached to implants. However, there still are regular dentures, which rests on the gums and are not supported by implants.

Nowadays the most common types of dentures are implant-supported dentures because they make the process of dentures easier.

An implant-supported denture is commonly used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw but also has enough bone in the jaw to support the implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.

Implant-supported dentures usually are made for the lower jaw because regular dentures tend to be less stable there. Usually, a regular denture made to fit an upper jaw is quite stable on its own and doesn’t need the extra support offered by implants. However, if you decide, you can receive an implant-supported denture in either the upper or lower jaw. An implant-supported denture should be removed daily to clean the denture and gum area. Just as with regular dentures,it is not recommended to sleep with the implant-supported dentures at night.

THE PROCEDURE

Understanding the steps involved in getting dental bridges at Dental Easy Care helps you make informed decisions. The process typically includes an initial consultation, fitting and adjustment, and aftercare and maintenance.

Initial Consultation

During the initial consultation, the dentist assesses your oral health with exams and digital X-rays, reviews your medical history, and discusses your needs to determine the best dental bridge for you. You’ll also receive a detailed treatment plan outlining costs and the timelines of the procedure.

Fitting and Adjustment

Fitting and adjustment are key to successful dental bridges. First, the dentist reshapes the abutment teeth and takes impressions for a custom fit. Then, at a follow-up visit, the bridge is adjusted using digital tools to ensure a proper fit and alignment.

Aftercare and Maintenance

Proper aftercare helps dental bridges last longer. Dental Easy Care provides cleaning tips and recommends regular check-ups. Avoiding hard foods and using bridge-friendly products also keeps them in good shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Are The Types of Implant-Supported Dentures?

Bar-retained dentures: A thin metal bar that follows the curve of the jaw is attached to usually two or five implants that have been placed in the jawbone. Clips or other types of attachments are fitted to the bar, the denture or both. The denture fits over the bar and is securely clipped into place by the attachments.

Ball-retained dentures (stud-attachment dentures): Each implant in the jawbone holds a metal attachment that fits into another attachment on the denture. In most cases, the attachments on the implants are ball-shaped (“male” attachments), and they fit into sockets (“female” attachments) on the denture. In some cases, the denture holds the male attachments and the implants hold the female ones.

Implants are commonly placed in the front part of the jawbone because this area typically has more bone than the back of the jaw, even if teeth have been missing for some time. However, this is not always the case, as bone loss can occur in the area where a tooth has been lost. Additionally, the front part of the jaw has fewer nerves and other anatomical structures that could interfere with implant placement, which makes it an ideal location for implants.

The duration of the implant process depends on several factors. On average, it takes at least five months for the lower jaw and seven months for the upper jaw. This timeframe includes surgeries and the placement of the denture. However, the process can take a year or longer, especially if bone grafting or other preparatory procedures are needed.

Usually, two surgeries are necessary. In the first one, the implants are placed in the jawbone under the gums. The second surgery exposes the tops of the implants. The rest of the procedure comes three to six months after.

A one-stage procedure is now commonly used. In this procedure, the dentist can place the implants and the supporting bar in one step. The success rate of this procedure is high.

It is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw but has enough bone in the same area to support such an implant. And because we know that in the past dentures did not feel exactly the same as natural teeth, that is why at Dental Easy Care every piece is custom made, in order to make every patient gets a natural look and feel more comfortable than ever.
